Threefold Educational Foundation
Threefold Educational Center is at the heart of a community of programs and institutions that teach and promote forward-thinking practices in education, agriculture, the arts, spirituality, and social life. Organizations belonging to the Threefold Educational Center include Green Meadow Waldorf School, the Otto Specht School, Eurythmy Spring Valley, the Pfeiffer Center for Biodynamic Agriculture, the Fiber Craft Studio, and more. Within the greater Threefold Community are also the Fellowship Community, Sunbridge Institute, the Nature Place Day Camp, the Hungry Hollow Co-Op, and more. Nowhere else in the world can you find the breadth of anthroposophical and related initiatives within one community.
The Fellowship Community
Settled on 80 acres of farm and forest, 90 minutes north of New York City, the Fellowship Community serves the needs of elder members through the phases of aging, from independent apartment living to more direct care, surrounding and supporting the individual with a more human approach to care.
Sunbridge Institute, originally called the “Waldorf Institute”, was founded in 1967 and is the oldest Waldorf Teacher training program in North America. Sunbridge provides higher educational offerings that stimulate and enrich the personal and professional capacities essential for adults engaged in the education of children. Students enrolled in the full teacher training program also have the opportunity to receive a Master’s Degree through SUNY Empire.
Green Meadow Waldorf School
Green Meadow Waldorf School is one of the largest and oldest Waldorf Schools in the United States, having been teaching students with the time tested and unique Waldorf Curriculum for nearly 70 years! Green Meadow offers a Waldorf School experience for very young children and their parents in its parent-child classes in addition to a full pre-K through 12th school. Green Meadow is accredited by AWSNA, WECAN, and NYSAIS.
Threefold Community farm
The Pfeiffer Center practices, teaches and promotes biodynamics through courses, workshops, and internships for all levels of experience and interest. The ongoing work of developing a biodynamic farm individuality in the northern suburbs of New York City is the foundation for our educational programming.
Eurythmy Spring Valley
Eurythmy Spring Valley, founded in 1972, is devoted to developing the art of eurythmy and offers professional trainings, enrichment courses for the public, and performances regionally, nationally and internationally. Beyond its beauty as an art form, eurythmy is an invaluable tool used in education, medical therapy, and organizational consulting.
The Nature Place Day Camp
The Nature Place Day Camp is a nature-oriented, non-competitive summer day camp for children and also offers year-round workshops for all ages. Their mission is to foster connections, - to ourselves, to each other, and to the earth.
The Hungry Hollow Coop
The Hungry Hollow Coop began in 1973 as a buying club and has developed into a community source for organic, biodynamic, and local foods as well as natural products for home and body. The coop is an active participant in our community, supporting and hosting community events and educational seminars.
Fiber Craft Studio
The Fiber Craft Studio is a collaboration of fiber artisans, who work and teach their craft. Inspired by the teachings of Rudolf Steiner, these artists work to bring the principles and practices of anthroposophy into their art and teaching. The studio offers classes in fiber arts for Waldorf teachers and the public.
